Ministries

All the church's efforts in carrying out the Great Commission are organised into departments called "ministries", and all members are obligated to participate in one or more of these ministries according to their abilities.

MARRIAGE AND FAMILY

The ministry is established for the purpose of encouraging, nurturing healthy and God glorifying relationships; through teaching, counselling, visitations and couples’ fellowship

  • To promote healthy marriage and family relationships
  •  To conduct pre and post marital counselling
  • To nurture the children in the way of the Lord
  • To promote mentorship for couples

MEN’S FELLOWSHIP

  • To organize, participate, promote and give to the work of evangelism and outreach to men. 
  • To promote fellowship among the menfolk
  • To spur one another as men unto good works 
  • To promote growth spiritually among men, through the preaching, teaching and sharing of God’s word
  • To mentor young men and older men and to equip and groom the menfolk to biblical leadership overall ministry at NBC-leading in family worship in homes (prayers and Bible study or devotions), at church regular meetings (Prayer, Sunday Bible study, cell group and prayer meeting) and other areas and levels of leadership.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY 

The Purpose of the Ministry and Objectives

The Ladies Ministry‘s primary existence is to encourage, strengthen and exploit the potential of women in serving God through the different planned Christian activities. It creates a platform for spiritual growth and participation in the life of the church. The different means of grace such camp meeting, fortnight prayer meetings open pathways to gifting identification for the edification of the body of Christ.

  • To inspire and nature women to grow in their relationship with God ( Colossians 1:9-12)
  • To bring others to Christ and discipling (Mathews 28:14; Acts 18:24-28)
  • To help women discover, develop and use their God –given talents.   ( 1 Peter 4:8-11)
  • To provide opportunity for older women to mentor younger women  ( Titus 2:3-5)

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY 

  • To teach or impart the word of God, the Bible to the children.
  • To lead , guide and to point them to accept Christ as Saviour  their salvation and Lord
  • To teach and disciple the children to grow (to be established) in the faith and participate in the life of the church through relevant means and activities, gifts, talents and abilities
  • To teach and train the children to spread the good news-the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to peers who are strangers to the gospel.

STUDENTS’S MINISTRY 

Objectives

  • Reach out with the Gospel for salvation of students in schools, colleges and Universities
  • Disciple students into Christ-likeness through worship services in schools, bible studies, and fellowship.
  • Promote membership and integration of students into the Young People’s fellowship, and Church Life
  • Avail opportunity of NBC members to participate in the student’s Ministry

YOUTH MINISTRY 

Outreach to and teaching in Boarding Schools, Colleges and Boarding Houses around the city. The purpose is to take the gospel to where the students are and bringing some to church where possible.

Objectives

  • To evangelise and disciple youths for Christ and promote biblical values in fellowship and lifestyle.
  • To Provide opportunities for young people to discover and grow their gifts
  • To provide fellowship opportunities for the young people at NBC.

PRAISE AND SINGING

  • To glorify God through God honouring, saints edifying and biblically sound songs and music.
  • To reach out to the unsaved through music and songs
  • To learn and teach new songs to the congregation
  • To train and develop gifted members, young and old in music and songs

HOSPITALITY

The Hospitality group exists as an auxiliary team that supports the Church’s ministries activities by providing meals when called upon.  As such the group does not initiate any activity.

DOOR KEEPERS OR USHERS

  • To usher/lead/guide people to appropriate places during worship service, funeral, conferences and other church events or church related events
  • To help the deacons on the Lord’s Day and other days with delegated work to them or the elders such as collection of the offerings and Tithes and other works, affectionately and welcomingly.
  • To work at encouraging the less active saints in church life-the incognito members or associates-to become active participants in church life through relevant means and interactions and ministries.

MEDIA MINISTRY 

  1. The media ministry was created as an extension for the local church’s resources towards the people outside the church both believers and non-believers. 

    1. To be a channel/medium that presents the image of the church through the resources and branding of the church programs and activities.
    2. What The Media Ministry Does/Should Be Doing
    • It is an outreach platform to both believers and unbelievers outside the church.
    • It presents an image of Ndola Baptist Church in terms of church programs and activities. It disseminates information about all ministries in the church.
    • It is responsible for audio and visual management during church services, seminars, conferences, etc.
    • It is responsible for the publicity of church programs and activities.
    • It is responsible for publishing the Sunday Order of Service.
    • It manages the church website and all social media platforms.
